They were interesting and films were talked about but it was hard to find specific films or lists of films. This book lists lesbian films and films with lesbian characters or subtext in alphabetical order. The author lists the title, year, director, actors and synopsis of each film. There are also lists of actors, directors and film titles at the end of the book. It includes films from several different countries from the 1930's until the book was published in 2000. Black and white photos are also included. Great cover photo of Jennifer Tilly in "Bound." Best lesbian film reference guide I've found so far.
