This is a phenomenally written book, with great photography, but the author describes it as a "user-friendly guide to 104 of the best public courses in the US, Canada and Mexico and the Carribean that any golfer (ESPECIALLY THOSE ON A BUDGET) can play...
Sure, if it's a limitless budget, and if you're wealthy enough to own a car for each day of the week. Look it's a great book and well worth your time and money, but Pebble Beach, Whistling Straits and Kiawah Island among many others are NOT "budget-friendly" courses, NOR are they really secrets. If there's a golfer out there who hasn't heard of Pebble Beach well, he's not really a golfer...
If the author really wanted to appeal to the budget conscious, he'd have put together a book like this of courses with greens fees under $100... Now that, with his excellent writing, would be a 5 - Star book...
Great book... just misleading.
