THE LIFE AND TIMES OF A HOLLYWOOD BAD BOY Review

THE LIFE AND TIMES OF A HOLLYWOOD BAD BOY, is a terrific chronicle of the '60's thru the "90"s. It highlights the music and the attitude of each of these periods quite nicely. It is also the story of a man and how he deals with his demons. It presents the highs, pun intended, as well as the lows. The consequences of excess, and the liberating qualities of moderation. It is an unapologetic embrace of the Loadie lifestyle and everything that goes with it. And, there is a moral to this story.
It is also wonderfully descriptive. After reading through a few passages, I actually felt hung over. Get a glass of water and read this near a window. You'll need to quench the dry mouth and, every now and then, you'll need some fresh air.
The characters are real people with all their flaws and duality. The kind of folks you'd hang out with if you were as cool and Mr. Mulligan. I was entertained and even moved at times. Hey! Isn't that what a book is supposed to do?
THE LIFE AND TIMES OF A HOLLYWOOD BAD BOY, is a fine read and very honest. If you've lived this life style, it's a flashback. It will bring back memories you thought were long lost. If you didn't live this lifestyle, it will make you wish you had. It is a lot of vicarious fun.

The true story and raw exposition of a Baby Boomer's life growing up in a decadent sub culture of society. It's an autobiographical account of a child-man growing up as an impoverished elder son of seven. With his father in prison and his mother fighting alcoholism, he discovers that humor is the panacea for pain. The Life and Times of a Hollywood Bad Boy has some very funny anecdotes about the New York night life in the 70's, the Hollywood scene of the 80's and the Vegas explosion during the 90's. There are great stories about celebrities such as Robert DeNiro, Andy Garcia, Robin Williams and other comics who have been in the limelight for over 20 years. "...an entertaining and funny read." Tress Wright, Producer/Writer/Director. "It's an honest, unabashed and candid account of a life lived in the fast lane - of the Autobahn!" Ron Stevens, CEO of All Star Radio Networks.

okay, obviously the guy who wrote the other review HAS NEVER SMOKED WEED. this book is a great read for those who still partake, used to but don't (or most likely, can't), or have friends who do (and have seen them do some of this stuff described in the book). i HIGH-ly recommend it.

Sweet ass! A 200ish-page book about pot and pot-related stuff. Can you believe somebody paid these guys to publish a whole book about The Chronic? Man, that is so sick! The Marijuana-Logues started as an Off-Broadway show, consisting of these three guys, Arj Barker, Doug Benson, and Tony Camin sitting on stools and elucidating and illustrating the wisdom of weed. Since you probably never got motivated enough to actually go see the show, now is your chance to enjoy such gems as, "Some people say marijuana is a crutch—yeah, crutches help people walk. We think that's a good thing." In this sturdy volume (not made from hemp paper, so don't try to smoke it), you'll find many highly creative essays on the virtues of that fine fine plant, as well as some herben poetry, "high-ku," marijuana fun facts, marijuana fun snacks, and other up-here stuff [point to your head].Some choice buds from The Marijuana-Logues:ARJ BARKER'S FIRST TIMEThe first time I smoked pot, I was in the back seat of my older brother's car. It must have been some pretty good weed, too, because I'm an only child. THINGS YOU WILL NEVER HEAR DOUG BENSON SAY WHEN HE IS OFFERED SOME MARIJUANANo.FEMALE COMPOTABILITY by Tony CaminMy girlfriend thinks that I smoke too much pot. I, on the other hand, don't think I smoke enough pot, because if I did, I'd be finished. And I'm not. Look, we all have our vices: I like to smoke a little weed; she likes to feed the baby. Different strokes for different folks.
