I've been devouring this ever since it came into my hands. The book gives the reader an absolute coverage of the past-time's varied aspects; geographically, culturally, emotionally & historically. It's split into concise sections, illustrated beautifully and exhaustingly with incredible photos, ads & posters, and written in a way that at times both takes a more documentarian style of coverage & a very personalized kind of coverage. It spans the history and marvels as it teaches, reading fast despite the vast amount of information it contains.
The love of the subject matter from the authors POVs was clear; the devotion to the detailed coverage was evident. Whether you're a long time board dog or just curious about the culture, it's a great read and a worthwhile addition to your collection.
