Reesie is the only one involved in a long term relationship. It happens to be an abusive relationship with a well known hustler, Caelin Ross. Mya, on the other hand, is into free love. Libra, obviously the main character, is being sought out by two of St. Louis' very own, Lamarr "Ke-Ke" Larkins and Tyron "Nutcase" Cross.
The trio were raised by Mrs. Wright, Reesie's mom, after an unfortunate incident. She's instilled spunk, confidence and street smarts in all three women. They are inseparable and don't mind putting in work when the need arises. HOWEVER, they may not be as close as they claim to be. Secrets arise followed by love and sex that clouds their friendships and judgment. Can these thick as thieves friend-sisters preserve their friendship?
I was hoping that GHETTO LUV by beginner Mary L. Wilson would have enough of the hood, but also a powerful storyline behind it. I don't know if it's me, but I believe that GHETTO LUV was just too GHETTO for me! Throughout the book, I felt as if it was only one voice the entire time. I never felt like each character was introduced to the readers, unbelievable plots, missing timelines, suspense, too far fetched to be anywhere near reality. It was just one contradiction after the other. I do hope that my critique is used constructively and utilized while Mary works on her second book.
