The contents are extremely run of the mill and the only three star attractions are presented as the CN Tower, the ROM, the Ontario Science Centre and the Toronto Zoo. Nothing new or innovative is pointed out.
There is a definite problem with proofreading and very obvious errors have gone unchecked. For instance:
*the Manhattan street grid is discussed in some detail, the paragraph somehow having been copied into theToronto guide (page 15);
*the population is described in 1941 as 80 % Anglo-Saxon, no doubt meaning of British origin (page 20);
*the paragraph on Yonge Street just ends in mid-sentence (page 59);
*339 500 m2 is converted to 477,8 yd 2 (page26) and 780 m2 is to 665 000 ft2 (page105) ;
*Birks and Indigo are described as `obscure stores' (page 111).
Of course, all of these are minor elements. But how can the rest of the information be trusted?
Overall, it is sad to see a reputable firm like Michelin live off its reputation and produce such a sloppy work.
