(More customer reviews)I've lived in the Los Angeles area for nearly twenty years and don't know how I've kept my head held high at cocktail parties without knowing at least half of the fascinating places stuffed inside this unusually terrific guidebook. I now know where the Brady Bunch house is. I now know where Jim Morrison resided. I also know some pretty great things to do on a week-end. Some of it is just fun reading, while I would actually visit many of the places featured. These writers have a terrific sense of humor as well as seem to have their fingers on the pulse of an interesting Los Angeles. Good job!

There is another Los Angeles that exists beyond the Tar Pits, the Hollywood Sign and the bus tours of "stars" homes. It's the real Los Angeles and it offers more unique, interesting and one-of-a-kind experiences, whether you're a lifetime resident or just visiting for the weekend, than any stop on a tour bus. Resident Tourist uncovers diverse locations throughout Los Angeles that are lighter on the pocketbook and less in the spotlight than the typical haunts filled with camera toting out-of-towners, with a focus on giving you your own truly memorable only-in-L.A experience.
